The final result of our second-grade leadership project was (believe it or not) a wax museum. As part of the project the children were asked to select their favorite leader whom they found inspiring. The students then researched and learned about these leaders and even became them for a day! The variety of chosen leaders was enormous – from Moshe Rabbeinu to JK Rowling, from sports stars to pop singers. One of the principles of PBL (project-based learning) is to allow students to present their projects during a live event or gathering. Consequently, third-grade students joined our “Wax Museum” party for our 2nd-grade children and, unlike at a real wax museum, the children got to ask the wax figures questions in both Hebrew and English, and to learn about inspiring leaders and their leadership skills.
